About

I’m Shaun. I’m 48. I’m married, I have a job, I have a roof over my head, I’m in a band, we’re very popular, I also dabble in DJing and stand up comedy. I have a lot of really good friends, a supportive family, and since getting some weight off ( and continuing to do so) my health is pretty good. Except, I’ve been diagnosed for the third time with clinical depression, I’m signed off work, and I’m taking each day as it comes, most days are ‘OK’ and that’s as good as it gets, some days are less than ‘OK’ and some days are downright horrible. I started this blog for myself, to document my journey back to (hopefully) full health, but also to raise some awareness about depression, and the reasons we don’t always talk about it. I hope that as this blog continues and evolves, I’ll be able to inject more fun and humour into the writing, but at the moment, there’s not a lot of laughs going on. if reading this blog helps one person to take that step, to be strong enough to say ‘enough, I need some help’ then I won’t have been writing this in vain.
